all who enjoy the experience of nature on foot. Visitors who share this
interest are welcome on the trails any time during daylight hours. Supervised
night hiking is occasionally a part of the program.

hunting, trapping or discharge of firearms will be permitted within the
borders of Merry Lea.
- No
all-terrain vehicles will be permitted on Merry Lea.
- There
is to be no horseback riding on Merry Lea.
- Snowmobileing
is not a part of activities at Merry Lea.
- Duck
hunting on the lakes is to occur from public waters and not from
within Merry Lea boundaries.
- Merry
Lea is not to be used as a general access for ice fishing. Written
permission can be obtained for crossing Merry Lea to reach the `gooseneck'
of Bear Lake. Some may wish to cross through Luckey's Landing to reach
High Lake, and this is presently acceptable without written permission.
- Mushroom
hunting will not be allowed.
- Parking
is permitted only in designated areas. Driveways, roadsides
and field entrances are not appropriate parking places.
- Unauthorized
fires are not permitted.
- Dumping
or littering is not permitted.
- Dogs
and cats brought to Merry Lea must be under direct
control at all times. Bringing family pets is strongly
discouraged because their presence is disruptive to the
native animals and plants as well as to the visitors
who come to Merry Lea expecting to experience a natural
area.
- In recognition of
our stewardship of human resources as well as natural features, use of
alcohol, tobacco or illegal drugs is not to be a part of activity at
Merry Lea.
