About Merry Lea

Facilities at Merry Lea

Merry Lea offers a variety of locations to help facilitate environmental learning.

Reith Village

The Center for Undergraduate studies at Merry Lea includes two cottages for student housing and one building for offices, kitchens, and a computer lab.  These buildings are examples of best practices in Green and Sustainable Design.

The Farmstead

A major programming site for school programs and public programs, the farmstead had a series of rustic buildings that house historic farm tools and equipment. The main barn has been converted to a large gathering room and wetland retreat room.

Luckey's Landing

This lakeside facility was a popular site for recreational activity in the 1940's. This location now serves as a program center for scheduled limnological studies.   It also is the site of our oak savannah restoration.

Learning Center

This the front office location as well as the location of many of the staff offices.  It is also the center for graduate studies at Merry Lea.  It is a major programming site for area field trips.  There is a parking area and a trailhead for hiking.

Glacial Retreat Center

This location features the Michael Yoder Dome and Program Center for geological studies along with Goodrich House.  It is located near a glacial esker and an old gravel pit that are used for geological investigation.
