Carmen Susana Horst was born in 1971 in the Argentine Chaco to Mennonite missionaries. She spent most of her formative years in Argentina until she entered Goshen College.... She received the George B. Hill 2000 Poetry Prize from the program in creative writing at the University of Wisconsin-Madison for "Ugly Poem" and "Siesta."
