A Poem Inspired by Audrey Poetker's
"My kingdom is of this world"

My world is full of memories

an eyelash that falls, the skylight
that
lets in a solid beam of light,
hymns from my piano, my world is
full of memories, that illuminate and shine
throughout my life and remind s me of you.

for Issac, for Rita, for Ben, I remember
it all, I was there, in a starry sky with
milky residue, the grass tickles my back
while over time the lawn grows thicker
and my life flows on and on

which is helpful for everyone, and I
am glad because I have made decisions
that I never regretted, I
have leapt with
eyes closed, into a crowd of people, disrupting
conversations, I
have run in the rain

during a grey afternoon, alone
and saw the playground which was deserted,
I have heard the ocean, seen the lake,

jumped in the puddle, I have closed
the coffin and held the newborn

my hands have shook, my eyes have
darted around, I have been moved into
delight by the trees outside turning red
so fast, I remember everything because
everything is you and you are everything

                       hope
