People of the eye... Community of vision
Presented by Ella Mae Lentz
This presenation emphasized the need to move away from the deficit
model of "deafness" and "hearing loss" and towards the Deafhood model
that celebrates our gifts and contributions to creat our vision. This
vision includes an ideal view of "deaf", the use of American Sign
Language for academic ecellence, dealing with Deaf-related concerns,
divisions and diversity, and consideration for future generations.
