How to Find Books

Use the catalog to search by author, title, subject, or keyword. Use the Library of Congress Subject Headings books (located near the entrance to the Reference Room) for a subject search. Subject heading searching can be more productive than searching by simple key words. Ask a Librarian for assistance.

Finding Journal Articles

Journal articles provide both general and scholarly information on current developments, research, trends, and hot topics. We have databases that include Art publications. Some of these databases include articles that are full text online. If you find an article that is not available full text online, then look up the journal title in Citation Linker [add link] to see if we have it in print or have online access elsewhere. If the article is not available, request it through Interlibrary Loan.
