Computer related problems:

Problem: I cannot log onto the computer
Solution: Make sure that “Goshen College” is selected in the “Log on to” drop box on the login screen

Problem: There is no sound coming from the computer
Solution: Make sure the internal computer volume is turned up and not muted

Problem: There is nothing on the computer monitor
Solutions: Make sure the computer is on by pressing a key on the keyboard. If after a few second you still see nothing, then make sure the computer is on by checking if the white light is lit on the bottom right corner of the front panel.  If the light is continuously lit, the computer is on: if the light is slowly blinking, it is sleeping and can be woken by pressing a key on the keyboard.

Problem: I cannot find my M: drive (Windows)
Solution: If you open Windows Explorer and do not see “homes on ‘GCFile (gcfile)’ (M:)” listed under “My Computer” then try to log out and log back into the computer.  If you still do not see  ”homes” please see the Windows Help page for further instructions.

Problem: I cannot find my M: drive (Mac)
Solution: Your M: drive is shown as your username in the Finder. If you do not see an icon with your username on the desktop see the Mac Help page for more instructions.
