Summer break Tues. May 20, 2008 - We've reached the end of chapel and convocations for academic year 2007-2008. We'll resume in the fall. Check back for more content in September, or enjoy your old favorites!
Chapel: Summer Sendings/Blessings, led by Inquiry Program students This is our final chapel service of the school year. It will be led by students in the "Preparation for Inquiry Program" class. These students will be spending their summers in various ministry, service, and camp opportunities. They will be blessing us off to our respective summer plans, as well as a farewell to those graduating. EDITOR'S NOTE: This service includes moments of silence, it is not a problem with the recording. May 16
Chapel: "A Less-Traveled Road for Christian College Students ..." by Brian McLaren, noted author and speaker Many young adults feel torn between two options: a) preserve the traditional approaches to Christian faith which are available to them, or b) reject any active practice of the faith altogether. There is a third option: c) to explore and discover new ways of living and practicing the way of Jesus. In today's chapel, Brian McLaren will explore the strengths and weaknesses of all three options, and encourage students who feel so called to choose the third less-traveled road. Noted author and speaker Brian McLaren returns to Goshen College campus with his "Everything Must Change" tour. In this chapel service, he will give an overview of key themes to the upcoming 24-hour event held Friday evening through Saturday evening. May 9
Convocation: Senior Statements Three seniors will answer the question: "How has your perception of yourself changed during your college years?" Speakers will be Luis Robledo, Messay Tamrat, and Laura Leischner. May 5
Chapel: Reflecting on the Journey Graduating seniors (Sarah Wilson, James Weber) share how their faith has been shaped while at GC. May 2
Chapel: "Hymn Sing: Favorite Hymn Countdown" - led by student Brian Waidelich and others Come on out for our final chapel of the second semester! This chapel service will be a hymn sing based on student favorites. You'll have opportunity to email your vote to the leaders, who will then create a worship service centered around the top selected hymns. Apr 18
