Wireless Internet Troubleshooting

1. Make sure the wireless switch on the front cover of the laptop is turned on. For a diagram of where you can find the switch, see the laptop specs, page 5.

2. If the switch is turned on, find the 'Intel PROset/Wireless' icon in the bottom right corner of the toolbar on the desktop. This icon will be yellow if the internet is not connected or green if it is. Double click on the icon to open the wireless options. Choose the wireless profile you would like to use then click, 'Connect'.

3. If you are using the laptop off-campus, you will need to follow the directions given by your location.

Connecting a Laptop to a Projector

*Note - Because of the variation among laptops and projectors, these instructions are only meant for equipment that has been checked out from ITSMedia.

1. Make sure the projector power cord is plugged in securely, the power button on top is green, and the lens cap is off.

2. Next, check the RGB cable connecting the laptop to the projector. It should be securely connected to the laptop in the blue port that has a small square icon above it and in the projector in either 'RGB 1 IN' or 'RGB 2 IN'.

3. Check the input on the projector. If the RGB cable is connected to 'RGB 1 IN' then the projector input should be on RGB 1. If it is connected to 'RGB 2 IN', then the input should match.

4. Check the output on the laptop. To do this, hold down the FN key and push F5 to choose the view you want.  You can view your presentation on just the laptop, on both the laptop and projector, or on just the projector. *Hint: If you connect the RGB cable and turn on the projector before turning on the laptop, when the laptop is turned on it will change outputs automatically.*
