Security  Badness has gone virtual. So along with the convenience of Google, online shopping, Yahoo Maps and Wikipedia we have to contend with viruses, spam, spyware, identity theft, hackers and scammers. Everyone is having to raise their security game and Goshen College is no exception.  We started last spring with the first phase of a password hardening initiative.  Last week we began phase 2 of that initiative, also voluntary, and by the end of the year we plan to have full compliance--everyone's password will meet the new criteria.  Other initiaves include:
  • Improved mail server security with SSL encryption and authenticated SMTP.  Due in December.
  • Secure authentication for all services.
  • Encrypted laptop drives for mobile employees
  • Secure tunneling service for mobile employees
