Tip: Enlarge Excel Spreadsheet Display in the Classroom

You're giving a presentation and discover that students in the back of the classroom cannot see your Excel spreadsheet.  Here's a helpful tip to enlarge just the portion of the screen you want them to see.
  • With your mouse, select the range of cells you want displayed.
  • Click the drop-down arrow on the Zoom Tool and click Selection.  Excel will instantly resize and reposition the selection to fill the worksheet window.
  • To return to normal view, select 100% from the drop-down Zoom list.
You can also hold down the Ctrl key and use the scroll button on your mouse to zoom in and out.  This also works in Microsoft Word.

Athlon64 While many colleges were deciding which model Dell to buy for fall, GC's ITS department were debating the merits of dual-channel memory, PCI Express graphics, 64 bit and dual core chip architectures.  We've made up our minds and we think you'll like the results. We've already taken delivery on nearly 190 Athlon64 PC's (with dual-channel memory and PCI-X graphics), 33 dual-core Mac Minis, and 50 20" LCD monitors, and are preparing to place them over the course of the summer.  Summer will also bring an increasing array of web services, a new calendar server, more wireless access points, more technology classrooms and hundreds of small but noticeable improvements.  So whether you're going to be a freshman this year, or just a proud alumnus, we're doing it all for you.
