Place several pictures into their own PowerPoint slides, all at once.

  • Start with putting all the pictures into their own folder.
  • Open a new powerpoint file.
  • Click on the Insert menu.
  • Click on Pictures.
  • Click on New Photo Album.
  • Click on Insert Pictures from File/Disk.
  • Browse to the folder that contains all the pictures and open that folder.
  • Select all the pictures in that folder (ctrl+A) and click on Insert. It generates a list of the pictures that are in this new photo album.
  • Click on Create. It then creates a new slide for each picture that is in the photo album.

ITS Mission Statement
The mission of Information Technology Services is to provide information technology resources that support and enhance the mission and activities of Goshen College.

ITS Vision Statement
ITS leads the campus in the adoption and strategic application of technology.  ITS serves the campus in a way that is effective, efficient, service-oriented, ethical and visionary.  ITS assists the campus in incorporating technology changes with minimum disruption in a manner that identifies and exploits opportunities.

The Business of ITS
The business of Information Technology Services is categorized into four areas - strategic, critical, operational and visionary.
1. Strategic - looking ahead and setting a course with clear priorities.  ITS will:

a. Maintain an up-to-date rolling strategic plan for campus computing and technology.
b. Assist departments with technology planning and strategic application of technology to teaching, learning and administration
 2. Critical - proactive measures and operations necessary to support and maintain campus technology needs.  ITS will:
a. Support and maintain the necessary infrastructure required for computing and technology at GC (networks, servers, security measures, etc.).
b. Develop and maintain a viable disaster recovery plan.
c. Develop and maintain policies related to the use, purchasing and allocation of hardware and software.
d. Work with administrators, staff, students and faculty to determine and meet their needs.
e. Stay informed of trends in technology.
f. Educate and inform administrators, staff, students and faculty of trends and opportunities.
g. Identify and implement best practices in higher-education information technology.
3. Operational - important operations that grow out of the strategic and critical functions.  ITS will:
a. Manage the ITS budget within institutional guidelines.
b. Maintain and upgrade hardware and software appropriate to campus needs and use.
c. Maintain and upgrade campus technology infrastructure and services as appropriate
d. Provide hardware and software support for users.
4. Visionary - thinking creatively and planning for future development.  ITS will:
a. Research and develop new information systems initiatives for Goshen College that are consistent with the mission and budget of the institution.
b. Spot technology and higher-education trends/opportunities and plan accordingly.
c. Foster a climate of innovation and continuous improvement.

The statements above grew out of work done by the Information Technology Committee (ITC) in Fall of 2001.  The ITC is an advisory committee that serves as a liaison between ITS and the campus community.
