Combine Data From Columns in Excel

Say you have two columns in Excel, one containing first names and one containing last names and you want to combine each first and last name into a cell. Below are formulas for two different ways of combining the data.

HelpCorps

Better known as Student Technology Assistants, or STAs, our HelpCorps students provide support to fellow students in Schertz and Kratz-Miller labs. Our STAs also staff the campus HelpDesk, providing telephone and walk-in support to faculty, staff, and students.

Our preference is to hire students who have been on campus and worked in the student labs for at least one semester, since this helps them to help others. We look for individuals who have familiarity with computers and their operation, but we especially like to hire people who enjoy helping others. We offer STA training seminars every fall, as well as ongoing assistance from our professional ITS staff, to help our students provide the best possible support to the campus.

Other characteristics we look for are:

an ability to think creatively and problem solve
an upbeat, friendly, customer service attitude
enthusiasm for continual growth and learning
ability to communicate with others, and be understood by them over the telephone, in English
a professional demeanor and appearance
