/Projects http://www.goshen.edu/its/Projects en-us Sun, 22 Nov 2009 02:42:10 GMT Caravel CMS RSS App GC Wireless Project http://www.goshen.edu/its/Projects:CB2=WirelessProject.html@CB1 The GC Wireless Project is an ongoing project to provide seamless 802.11 wireless coverage to the campus and to connect off-campus housing to the main campus network.  It began in 1999 when Gene Crusie connected the first off-campus houses to the campus via point-to-point wireless using an omni-directional antenna mounted on top of the Science Building.  The project is currently managed by David Hodges. Tue, 8 Mar 2005 20:40:17 GMT GC Caravel Implementation http://www.goshen.edu/its/Projects:CB2=Caravel.html@CB1 In April of 2004, the Information Technology Committee approved a trial implementation of Caravel, an Open Source Content Management System developed by Mennonite.net, to be evaluated after six months. Caravel was selected because it met the criteria set forth by the sub-committee on Content Management made up of Paul Meyer Reimer, Jane Wise and Pete Oakley, and could be implemented on top of the current enterprise web infrastructure without porting all existing content.
