Office ComputingIf your contract is .6 FTE or greater, ITS will supply a recent model computer for your office at no cost to your department.SupportITS operates a professionally-staffed Help Desk from 8-5 Monday through Friday. Student Help Desk support is available during evening hours. The Help Desk is located in Schertz Computing Center, Union Building and can be reached by phone at Ext. 7700 or email at .Course Web PagesGC has implemented Moodle, a leading web course management system. All courses have a web site in Moodle already created for your use.Educational TechnologyFloyd Saner, Educational Technology Specialist, is available to assist you with Moodle and other curricular issues at or phone Ext. 7404. The Help Desk will also route inquiries to Floyd as appropriate.SoftwareYour office computer comes with a wide variety of productivity and graphics software. Contact the Help Desk at or 7700 if you have curricular software needs.Network ServicesGoshen College offers the following Network Services:WebGC uses the Mozilla web browser; Internet Explorer is also supplied. All employees also have access to web publishing space on www.goshen.edu. DreamWeaver, a web page editor, is available on your office computer. new for 2004-05 is Caravel, a browser-based web content management system designed to simplify publishing and maintaining web pages. Contact Paul Reimer, if you need secure areas on the webserver.Calendar/ SchedulingGoshen College offers campus-wide calendar/scheduling called Zimbra Calender. Zimbra Calendar is a companion program to the new Zimbra webmail client, and allows you to schedule people and resources on campus more easily. Windows, Mac and Linux clients are available or you can access your schedule via the web at zimbra.goshen.edu. Log in with your username and LDAP (email) password.File serviceData is stored on a central "M: drive", where it is backed up nightly and available from any computer you log into. You can access your M: drive from home via a web browser at webfile.goshen.edu. Note: All accounts are now synchronized and accessible using your LDAP (email) password.GC OnlineGC Online gives access to an increasing array of secure web services at gconline.goshen.edu.ListservsGC hosts a number of listservs. You can subscribe to a listserv from within GC Online. Listservs are automatically created for your courses in Moodle. If you want custom listserv created contact the Help Desk.Classroom ComputingGC has approximately 25 multimedia classrooms, equipped with computing, projection and multimedia equipment. If your course requires this sort of technology, contact the registrar to ensure that your class is scheduled in the appropriate space. Orientation for our technology classrooms is available. If you have a classroom emergency involving technology call Ext. 7700.PrintingThere are regional laser printers placed throughout the campus which you can use at no cost. If you wish to have an inkjet printer, that will be a departmental expense.Specialty Printing & EquipmentSchertz Computing Center houses both a large format (11 x 17) laser printer and a color laser printer which are available to faculty members. ITS also offers a wide variety of equipment including scanners, slide scanners, OMR scanner, CD/DVD recorders, digital cameras, DV cams, etc. for faculty use.Media ServicesITS Media, located on the south end of the Union, provides equipment checkout, and a wide range of Audio/Video services and support.Online ResourcesThe Good Library has a rich collection of online resources, including bibliographic and full-text databases. See www.goshen.edu/library/.BookstoreThe campus bookstore web site permits credit card purchasing of books and GC apparel, via Follett Publishing's secure e-commerce server.
