Antivirus Protection For Your Personal Computer

August 2010 - Goshen College is no longer able to offer the free Sophos Antivirus program for students to use on their personal computers. You will need to find an alternative antivirus program to keep your personal computer protected from viruses. If you are unsure of which antivirus program to use, we recommend Microsoft's free "Microsoft Security Essentials."  Please note that although ITS recommends the use of Microsoft Security Essentials, ITS does not support the program.  If you experience any problems with Microsoft Security Essentials you will need to contact Microsoft for support.

If you choose to use Microsoft Security Essentials, there are two ways by which you can get the installer:

• Go to Microsoft's site and download the program.
• Get an installation CD from the ITS Help Desk.

If you are going to download the antivirus software from Microsoft's site, please follow these instructions:
