Extensions

Extensions are modifications to the Thunderbird program that add functionality.  They are installed at the discrection of the user.  This enables Thunderbird to be a highly personalized program, since the user can decide which functions they do or do not want to have avaiable to them.

Extenstions are listed and can be downloaded from the Add-ons section of the Mozilla website.  Please note that extensions are released by members of the public, and NOT the Mozilla Corporation!  Because of this, poorly made extensions can find their way on to the list, including ones that do not work at all, or are security risks.  To determine whether an extension is worth your time, it is best to read the comments and ratings posted on it.  These are located on the specific extension's page, under the installation instructions.  Users give the extensions a star rating from 0 to 5, 0 being the worst and 5 being the best.  This is a good way to gauge whether or not an extension is likely to work correctly.

*NOTE*

ITS can NOT be held responsible for damage, program corruption, or data loss caused by a user installing an extension.  Furthermore, if an extension does not work correctly for you, it is a matter to be taken up with the author of the extension and NOT ITS.  ITS is NOT responsible for the content or functionality of any extension.   ITS does NOT support user-installed extensions.
