Here at Goshen College tuition and fees cover only 65% of the actual cost of educating each student. As of 2/20/08 we are about 65% of the way through the academic year. This day represents the point at which revenue from tuition and fees stops covering educational costs.
 
Who gives money to Goshen College besides students?

A lot of people!! Alumni, parents, faculty, staff and people with no other connections to Goshen College besides a shared value in the education we provide (we like to call them “friends”). Even corporations and foundations see supporting Goshen College as a valuable investment.

What a great reason to celebrate!

The goal of the event is to raise awareness among students that Goshen College students' tuition and fees cover approximately 65% of what it actually costs to educate them for one year. Tuition Free Day symbolically marks the 2/3 point in the year when students' tuition and fees stop paying for their education and the financial support of others begins.  Additionally, we want to celebrate the thousands of alumni and friends of the college who financially support Goshen College students' education!

•  65% of the year is completed
•  Students' tuition and fees covers about 65% of actual college expenses for one year
•  Alumni and Friends make up a good portion of this difference

• $3,261,607  – Money given to Goshen College from alumni & friends in 06-07.

On Wednesday, February 20th, Celebration activities will be held in the Dining Hall and Union 11:00 – 2:00, including cake, the DVD, information about Tuition Free Day as well as an opportunity to send a thank you note to a donor.  Please join us!
