Five Mennonite writers who participated in the 1997 conference are (left to right) Jean Janzen, Dallas Wiebe, Elmer Suderman, Julia Kasdorf and Jeff Gundy.

This conference is the successor to "Mennonite/s Writing in Canada" held in 1990 at Conrad Grebel College and "Mennonite/s Writing in the U.S." held in 1997 at Goshen College. The 2002 conference will be concerned with Mennonite literature and Mennonite writers from Canada, the United States, and elsewhere.

The conference will acknowledge the 40th anniversary of the publication of Rudy Wiebe's novel Peace Shall Destroy Many, which initiated the remarkable development of Mennonite literature in the late 20th century. Rudy Wiebe will be one of many Mennonite authors who will attend the conference. All writers, readers and publishers of Mennonite literature are welcome.

As further details of the conference become known, they will be added to this website.
