Automatic mailing lists are used pervasively at Calvin. Prior to KnightVision, most classes had automatic mailing lists so instructors could communicate with their students. Recently, automatic mailing lists began being used for many student organizations and some campus-wide mailings.

To Subscribe to a Majordomo Mailing List

1. Start a new email message.
2. Address it to majordomo@calvin.edu
3. Leave the subject blank.
4. In the body of the text, type subscribe "listname"
• in your message, replace "listname" with the name of the specific list you're subscribing to (with no quotation marks).
5. Send the message.
6. You will receive an email from Majordomo confirming your subscription.
7. If you subscribe to a moderated list, you will get a notice indicating that your name has been sent to the owner of the list for approval.
