Thanks for the thought you put into this, Kelsey! Bucket lists can be somewhat overwhelming for me, but your statement re Jesus' model of "loving the 'unlovable (whose ranks I share)'" resonates with me. It is an opportunity guaranteed to present itself 24-7 (well- not sure about sleep time, but close). This said, however, I appreciate the energy here challenging us to focus on tasks and direction as well, esp at a major decision-making time in my life! May God's spirit energize and direct you as you live each day, Kelsey! Kathy

Hello!
This morning as I meditated on this passage, I felt both the desire to be gathered under Christ's "wings" and His longing to gather us, his unwilling flock, along with his frustration at out rebelliousness. I asked Christ to find those places in me that are "unwilling" and soften them, help me "let go" and find my own path to follow him.

Thanks for your words of encouragement today. I just recently watched "Bucket List"....and they were preparing to die well, too. Living well now and loving well and preparing to die well is a daily journey.

Dear Ms. Shue:

I have ready these messages through each day and I have enjoyed them. Yours struck me and turned me to the text, though, and I am grateful for that.

I pray this lenten season will be a peaceful and healthy time of growth for you. You have certainly jogged me in a healthy way today.

Peace be with you.

What a great thought that maybe Jesus had a "bucket list" as well! What kind of things would have been on his list? And how would his bucket list compare to mine? It's a good reminder to me as I think about life goals to not only think about places I want to see and things I want to do before I die, but how can I be affecting peoples lives in the time I have left here on this earth. Thank you Kelsey!

Like Jesus, I want to live 'til I die. It's getting harder to keep the "live" part in front. Although Jesus kept living after he died, as well. Hard concepts to grasp.

Thank you for your good thought for the day. I'm almost 89 years old and every day I ask myself that same question.

Kelsey,
Thanks for the reminder to live in the present but always being mindful of the fact that we will all die. And to keep that "bucket list" in front of us as a reminder of what is important as we fulfill God's purpose for our lives. Good thoughts!
