I am so glad for the Goshen link from Sojourners. And I am glad for the words of assurance, both from the scriptures and from your thoughts. And then there was this, also at the SoJo website: Jesus’ example was radical. Over and over he tried to tell people to differentiate between tradition and truth – and he called them to follow the truth, which abolishes prejudice.

Your reminder that we are always preparing and living out our discipleship simultaneously and iteratively reminds me of John Lennon's quote: “Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans.” I think that's one of the hardest things to remember in lay and professional ministry. Thank you for reminding me.

These daily advent messages are a great start to my day. Lisa's is especially meaningful and thought provoking with the idea of preparing for the kingdom - while living the kingdom - daily. A challenge indeed. Thanks.

Reminds me to keep looking on the "margins" for Jesus' in-breaking.... The "upside down Kingdom" involves climbing "down" in this world, not "up."

Makes me want to sing the Handel's Messiah. That beautiful music makes it all seem so believable.

As I go about getting ready for a new day, which includes reading these devotionals, thanks Lisa for reminding me that "getting ready" for the inbreaking of the Kingdom of God is a daily practice, not just something to do in Advent.
