It was wonderful to be reminded that even if life isn't going as well as we would wish, if we, as you say, "fear God, give alms generously, and pray constantly," He will take care of us. I know He has the power and the love to do so. One of my favorite descriptions of His purpose reads, in part, as follows: "and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to succor his people according to their infirmities." Your rich reflection reflects a faith that is active and growing. I will keep this with me as I preside at the Easter Vigil in my parish.
