Waiting on the final train

7.3.12 – 10:12 p.m. EST

We’re still out here waiting for the final train… it’s a bit later than expected, but the last word from the railroad company is that there’s one more coming in about a half hour. Stay tuned! A crew from Norfolk Southern is standing by and ready to cut and remove the rails. About 50 spectators are gathered and the energy is high. We’ll post again when they start cutting the tracks!

(By the way, it turns out that Josh was a bit ahead of the game in announcing the final train… false alarm! We’re still waiting!)

We’re live from the construction site! Here’s a quick check-in before the fun begins tonight. Watch for updates here as the project continues…

Last train…

7.3.12 – 2:48 p.m. EST

UPDATE on the schedule:

The last train will pass through campus tonight by 8 p.m., so the work can get started a bit earlier than previously thought. If you plan to come to campus to watch, know that once digging starts vehicles and pedestrians will not be allowed in restricted areas on campus.
