He leaves at 9:10 AM to arrive a little early to help with music. Back to Goshen by 12:15 at the latest. We're a small congregation that is friendly and eager to meet GC students. A couple GC students currently attend there as child-care givers. We offer communion every Sunday in a service that has a mix of traditional and contemporary music. We have a couple guitarists, a pianist, a floutist and would love to have you join us, whether you are musical or not. Contact Skip Barnett () or Mary Ann Bean () if you're interested.

Grace is an energetic church. The meeting times are 8:00, 9:45, and 11:30. We just opened a new high-tech worship venue at the church, which really targets the young adult generation. The congregation can now choose to go into the main service or into the LINK (the new facility). There is a college group (18-28 years old) called The PURSUIT at the church in the LINK. We meet every Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. and alternate between corporate worship, prayer, and teaching times one week and then small groups on the next week.

Don't just show up for pie and ice cream and carry-ins at College Mennonite Church, come to worship with us! In years gone by, College Mennonite Church was the name given to the College community when it met to  worship in AD 28, then known as Assembly Hall. Faith House Fellowship is a small worshiping group (10-12 at present) rooted in the Anabaptist/Mennonite tradition that grew from Faith Mennonite Church. Our worship is flexible and informal in a contemplative style, with shared leadership, time for scripture, singing, prayer, a meditation, silence and sharing. Worship continues with an Agape soup and bread meal each Sunday. With Jesus as our guide, we attempt to follow Micah’s call to do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with God. We are a group concerned about authentic living in balance with creation, and we are committed to supporting each other in this walk.  In our fellowship, we welcome all those who seek God and want to be part of a community of honest mutual engagement. Lifespring Community Church is a non-denominational church in downtown Goshen. We meet and car pool every Sunday by Susie Lambright's apartment (Susie, a Resident Director at GC, is a regular) in the Connector game room at 9:30 to be able to arrive at the church before the 10:00am service. We have worship and a message for an hour and then after the service all the college students are invited to a church members house for a free home-cooked meal. Since it’s not a large church it is easy to make friends and get to know people. Everyone is very welcoming and friendly and we are always looking for ways to better the community and to help the family of God.

I (Bryce Bow) would love to take anyone along who wants to check out my church. I have room to take four people with me (). Our mission is to proclaim and model Christianity in a culturally relevant way with the goal of developing fully-devoted followers of Jesus Christ...followers who GO to the lost with the message of Christ, GROW in their faith through a pursuit of Christ, and SHOW compassion to the poor with the love of Christ. Our service times are 9 and 10:30....I usually go to the 10:30 service and leave at about 10 or so. I am flexible though. We are starting a new series this Sunday (Sept. 7) titled "Tough Questions" in which our pastor is going to try and dissect the most common and hardest questions people have about Christianity and the Church. It should be good!!

It is only natural that your life will be challenging at times during your college days. We speak from experience when we remind you to take a break from your hectic campus life to reflect on lessons learned and mistakes made through prayer and the sacrament of Reconciliation. If you find yourself with questions or your faith challenged, please call Father Chris for clarification and conversation. He would also love to hear from you anytime via e-mail: csmithstjohncatholic.com.

We encourage your participation as we celebrate the Most Blessed Sacrament and we hope to be your home parish away from home. Let us know how we can help make your college experience one that supports your spiritual life. If you are searching for a meaningful way to become involved at St. John’s, may we suggest the following:

  • We offer R.C.I.A. (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) on Thursday evenings if you want to learn more about the Catholic Faith. People of all faiths are  welcome to attend. Call the parish office for the schedule and the details.
  • Our elementary school needs Mentors  to  work one on one with some of our students and we have need for certified substitute  teachers. Call Peggy at the school office at 533-9480.
  • Where are you in your life’s journey? Our youth group for middle and high school students  may need  your life experiences and  enthusiasm! Call Sara Knight, Coordinator for the Youth Ministry at 533-3385 ext. 214.
  • Our choir practice is Wednesday evening. They sing at the Sunday 10:00 a.m. Mass and for various seasonal liturgies. Call the parish office and they will gladly pass along your interest to our music staff.

Our Mass times are as follows:

  • Saturday: 4:30pm in English and 6:00pm in Spanish
  • Sunday: 8:00am and 10:00am in English, 1:00pm in Spanish
