Ministry Inquiry Program

The Ministry Inquiry Program (MIP) consists of eight North American Mennonite colleges that arrange for college students to test their calling and gifts for pastoral ministry by serving three months as a pastoral intern in a congregation under the supervision of an experienced pastor. Goshen College places around 10 students annually in MIP assignments.

Students in MIP will experience:

  • Directing ministry to others in a congregational setting
  • Creative responses to perplexing human problems
  • Encounters with a wide variety of people
  • Insight into the challenges facing ministers
  • New relationships with a congregation
Students spending a summer in ministry with this program receive up to a $2,000 scholarship and a $500 stipend.

Learn more about the program and how to apply online at the Ministry Inquiry Program Web site.

Congregations support MIP by:

  • Calling or writing to the Ministry Inquiry Program administrator at Goshen College, and nominate an excellent student candidate from your congregation who would benefit from MIP
  • Encouraging students from your congregation with potential for ministry to participate in the Ministry Inquiry Program through Goshen College
Congregations desiring interns should apply to the Ministry Inquiry Program through the program administrator.
