BSD Coffee Hour – Fall 2014

The first and third (usually) Monday of each month from 10:00 a.m. to 10:50 in Science 106, all students majoring and/or minoring in a program in the Biological Sciences Department (BSD) are encouraged to attend the BSD Coffee Hour.  This is a time for coffee/tea, announcements, and dialogue in order to support you in exploring a career in Biology. Coffee and cookies will be provided!

Welcome back & Fall Schedule

Come learn about the semester’s activities in the biology department (including an overview of Coffee Hours and Science speakers, how to get involved in research, and your friends’ summer accomplishments).  Faculty will present short overviews of their research projects and advertise openings in their labs for the 2014-15 year.

A group of seniors will present their stories and offer advice about their experiences as undergraduates in Goshen College’s Department of Biological Sciences.  Come learn tips for being successful and plugging in to our community.

Bioethics Discussion on the Ebola Outbreak

We’ll explore the various ethical issues (biological, economic, and justice) associated with treating, preventing, and managing the outbreak of global diseases, using Ebola as a case study.

Fall Internship Presentation Extravaganza

Biology students who completed internships during the summer of 2014 will present their experiences. Come get ideas for planning your own career-altering internship.
