BSD Coffee Hour – Spring 2013

Every other Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:50 in Science 106, all students majoring and/or minoring in a program in the Biological Sciences Department (BSD) are encouraged to attend the BSD Coffee Hour.  This is a time for food, announcements, and dialogue in order to support you in exploring a career in Biology. Coffee and tea will be provided!

Come participate in a discussion regarding the intersections between healthcare and race with panelists from Nursing, Human Resources, and the Multicultural Affairs Organization.

During our Spring internship presentation event, come learn how your student colleagues in the department gained better clarity on their career interests through their recent internship experiences.

Preparing for a career in medicine
A panel of local healthcare providers (family doctors, surgeons, nurse practitioners, nurses, and physical therapists) will answer your questions about how to prepare for a career in medicine.

Interdisciplinary Panel:  Bioethics
The Biology department will organize an inter-departmental panel discussion regarding a bio-ethics case study.

Science & Religion Discussion
To prepare for Dr. Gayle Woloschak’s presentations in the Annual Science & Religion Conference April 5-6, we’ll meet and discuss some of her writings.
