Miller Collection of rocks and minerals | Springer Lapidary Collection


A very impressive display of labeled mineral specimens collected by the late Professor Glenn R. Miller of the Goshen College Chemistry Department is located in the west section of the first floor hall.

An assorted collection of rock, fossil, and mineral specimens is on display in the west end of the second floor hall.

A Lapidary Collection of 600 polished stones (Cabochons) is also housed in the cases on the second floor. This spectacular collection was donated by the late George Springer of Illinois.

The stones of the Springer Collection come from locations in many different states of this country and numerous other countries. They are contained in the original display boxes prepared by the late Mr. Springer. Each stone measures 4 cm by 3 cm and is polished to a high luster.
