Springtime in Goshen
This May term, I'm taking Spiritual Writings of Women, with Malinda Berry. I love this class. We've been reading about feminist critiques of traditional Christian atonement theories and now are starting to look at more contemporary authors such as Sue Monk Kidd. We have also been learning how to knit, and helping Malinda put together an "Art Deco" quilt. She has more information about the projects we're doing and relating them to women's spiritual experiences on her website.
I haven't had too much homework in my class, which has been really great, especially after a more difficult semester this spring. I have a lot more time now to relax and spend time with friends, at least those who are still here! Several of my good friends are away this May term in Florida, London, Spain and Morocco, and on SST in Peru, Germany, and Nicaragua.
We're already halfway done with May term! In a week and a half, our classes will be done and we will all be heading off various places for the summer. I'm going home for two weeks and then coming back to Goshen for Maple Scholars this summer. Exciting! I hope you all have a lovely spring, and enjoy the beautiful weather this May.
