New Faculty HandbookWelcome to Goshen College! We are grateful to have you join the teaching faculty. To help you get oriented to the college and community we have created this On-line New Faculty handbook. While your department chair and colleagues will be the most vital of your campus resources, this book is to help with basic questions and information. Please do not hesitate to contact Ross Peterson-Veatch (x7504) or the Dean's Office (x7503) if you need assistance.I. Getting Started New faculty will receive communication from the Dean’s Office regarding their ID #, work location, phone # and keys needed. Upon arriving on campus new faculty will need to visit the Physical Plant to obtain their keys (including a technology key), phone access, and parking permits. New Faculty are also assigned a post office box. Post office box keys should be obtained from the Office of Printing and Mailing located in Coffman Hall. II. Phone and Computer Accounts a. There is a user-friendly Telephone Guide to help new faculty with phone use. See Telephone Guide. b. Every faculty member on campus is provided with an office computer. Computer Access information can be obtained from Patty Goodman (x7700) or via campus mail. c. For computer orientation new faculty should contact Vicki Miller (x7700). d. Orientation to educational technology will be provided by the Campus Instructional Technologist. III. Campus Identification New faculty will need to stop by the office of Informational Technology Services to obtain an ID Card. Campus identification gives campus community members access to the Rec-Fit Center and the Good Library. IV. Library Services The Good Library plays an important role in the academic life of Goshen College. To become familiar with the campus library new faculty should take a few moments to read the "Introduction" written by the library director. An invaluable library resource is also the "Services for Faculty" page. V. Campus Culture and Background New faculty are encouraged to review the history and mission of the college as articulated in the Faculty Handbook. See "Section 1: History and Mission."
