Biology Coffee Hour

Fall 2023

All students majoring and/or minoring in a program in the Biological Sciences Department (BSD) are encouraged to attend the BSD Coffee Hour.  This is a time for coffee/tea, announcements, and dialogue in order to support you in exploring a career in Biology. Several events will be scheduled on Fridays at 10 a.m. each semester.

All events will meet in SC 106.

Welcome to the BSD!
Welcome to campus! The professors in the Biology department will introduce themselves and discuss opportunities in the Biological Sciences at Goshen this year. Followed by snacks and games outside.

Pre-Health Program
Learn more about the process of preparing for medical, dental, veterinary, and physical therapy schools. You’ll have an opportunity to meet pre-health advisors and learn about the key milestones to work toward as an undergraduate student. Open to all who are curious about these careers.

 

Friday, October 20

Limits of Science 
Current Junior Seminar students will lead a discussion about the inherent limits in our science disciplines. What are the questions we cannot address? What does this mean for our need to collaborate with others?

Career Pathways
Hear a panel of GC biology graduates talk about their career pathway since graduation. You may be surprised by the way alumni are using their science education!

Biology students who have recently completed internships will share their experiences. Come get ideas for planning your own career-altering internship.
