“For the past 11 years, I have been working as a mathematical statistician at the U.S. Census Bureau. Currently, I am responsible for the statistical methodology of the National Crime Victimization Survey and the National Survey of College Graduates. My projects range from designing sampling methods, researching new weighing methods and estimating variances. I really enjoy my coworkers and the work I do. In a typical week I do a variety of tasks from writing computer programs, writing project plans and reports, meeting with fellow teammates and reading journal articles.

In May I graduated from the University of Maryland with a doctorate in survey methodology. Survey methodology is a young and interdisciplinary field that seeks to scientifically understand and minimize the many errors encountered when conducting surveys.”
